ORGANISED ACTIVITIES & GUIDING
Are you planning to guide or bring groups into Lofotodden National Park?
Some hikes and activities in the national park require a permission from the National Park Authority, others do not. Here you will find an overview of what applies, and how to apply.

What is organised activity?
With organised activity we mean hikes, courses and activities in the national park arranged by someone other than yourself, for example as a guide, tourism operator, school, kindergarten, club or association. This applies regardless of whether the activity is commercial or not.
How much traffic an area can sustain varies, which is why some types of activities require a permission while others can take place freely. Below you can see what applies to your activity.
Does your activity require a permission?
| Type of organised activity | Permission required? |
|---|---|
| Single hikes (1 per year) on foot in Zone B*, organised by companies, DNT, schools, kindergartens, non-profit organisations or other voluntary groups — up to 15 people. | No |
| Repeated hikes with groups of up to five people (guests and guides included) in Zone B*. | No |
| Organised activity in Zone A*, including within the marine boundaries of the national park. | Yes |
| Organised overnight camping trips. | Yes |
| Repeated hikes with six or more participants (guests and guides included) to one or more destinations. | Yes |
| Other organised activities, including cycling, horseback riding, paddling or rowing on lakes, paragliding, climbing or cave exploration. | Yes |
*Zone A and Zone B: see map and full overview of the zone divisions in the application guideline.
